Oath Of A Muslim Physician

Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, the Sustainer of His Creation, the All-Knowing, Glory be to Him, the Eternal, the All-Pervading.
O Allah, Thou art the only Healer,
I serve none but Thee, and, as the instrument of Thy Will, I commit myself to Thee, I render this Oath in Thy Holy name and I undertake:
To be the instrument of Thy Will and Mercy, and, in all humbleness to exercise justice, love and compassion for all Thy Creation;
To extend my hand of service to one and all, to the rich and to the poor, to friend and foe alike, regardless of race, religion or colour;
To hold human life as precious and sacred, and to protect and honour it at all times and under all circumstances in accordance with Thy Law;
To do my utmost to alleviate pain and misery, and to comfort and counsel human beings in sickness and in anxiety;
To respect the confidence and guard the secrets of all my patients;
To maintain the dignity of health care, and to honour the teachers, students, and members of my profession;
To strive in the pursuit of knowledge in Thy name for the benefit of mankind, and to uphold human honour and dignity;
To acquire the courage to admit my mistakes, mend my ways and to forgive the wrongs of others;
To be ever-conscious of my duty to Allah and His Messenger s.a.w., and to follow the precepts of Islam in private and in public.
O Allah grant me the strength, patience and dedication to adhere to this Oath at all times.

Mixing up the goal with the means of getting the goal

Praise Be to Allah. Lord of The Heavens and The Skies
People nowadays always tend to mix up between the two. That is between acheiving their goal and with the means of acheiving their goal. Thats to say that people at often times in the process of trying acheive something, will tend to loose focus and in the end go far from what they had initially planed to do. For example in learning medicine. Why do some people choose to cheat in their exams. Its becuase their 'goal' is to pass the exams. Not to understand or to learn from their mistakes. For a person who chooses to be honest in ther exams. It shows that thier goal is not to pass but to gain more understanding so that they can acheive their higher goal which is to be a good doctor.

Well the one speaking isn't any better. I've just realised that in life we have to take these small test so that we learn that the point of these tests is not so that we can pass them its so that we can learn from them to reach our higher goal. I guess it can apply to everything. How can i use medicine to get closer to Allah?

For one when i dont pass. Maybe Allah is saying you need to work double hard. so that you dont kill that guy later when he is in his death bed. Yeah. i guess there is hikmah in everything.

2012: Beginning of the End or Why the World Won't End?

2012: Beginning of the End or Why the World Won't End?

So basically there is this whole talk about how the world would end in December 2012 as predicted by the Mayan. Ofcourse, if you are a Muslim you would totally discredit this because we know that the end of the world will come when after Islam has already won and imam mahdi and nabi Isa A.S will be here to save humanity from the Dajjal. So don't listen to anything the media try to push on you.
